Pupils from a Kenton school enjoyed a lesson which was out of this world when they chatted to an astronaut floating in space.

Children from Michael Sobell Sinai School quizzed NASA spaceman, Greg Chamitoff, via a satellite link up from the International Space Station.

Questions ranged from how do astronauts go to the toilet to what does the Earth look like from space.

Canadian-born Chamitoff is the cousin of two pupils at the school, Jessica, five, and Amelia Diamond, three.

The live link-up, coordinated with NASA, was the first of its kind to take place in London.

Dr Chamitoff is serving a six-month tour of duty aboard the International Space Station as a flight engineer and science officer. He is expected to return to Earth in November.
