Jonathan Edwards swapped Sochi's slopes for a school hall in Hounslow as he hosted a prize-giving ceremony for students.

The Olympic champion triple jumper-turned BBC sports presenter visited The Heathland School, in Wellington Road South, Hounslow, yesterday (March 19) to present awards to year 11 pupils.

Fresh from his presenting duties at the Winter Olympics last month, the former athlete presented Record of Achievement certificates to 270 pupils.

The triple jump world record holder also spoke to them about his achievements and how important it was never to give up. He told students they could 'suprise yourself' by persisting with something they found challenging.
