A keen runner who is training hard for the London Marathon in April may be familiar to many in the borough as she is a listening ear to people with problems.
Trainee counsellor Jo Tucker has been seeing clients at Communicare, in Uxbridge, which is based at Christ Church in Redford Way, for the past year.
After two years at university she gained her qualification and is now working towards 450 hours accreditation.
Between counselling sessions, she is also squeezing in five runs a week of between six and 13 miles ready for the marathon, which will raise money for Communicare.
The community service provided by the charitable trust has been in existence for 25 years since being founded in 1984.
The mother of three children aged between 14 and 20 said she has always eaten healthily, but has now cut out all biscuits and cakes and has added a lot more pasta, fruit and sport drinks to her diet.
She said: "I have been a runner for many years but never before had the confidence to meet that big marathon challenge.
"I heard I had been accepted in the autumn and I am very excited and looking forward to it. I am very grateful to Communicare for giving me the chance."
