X Factor boyband JLS have won a major record deal just months after wowing Fulham girls with their smooth moves on the talent show.

Former Cardinal Vaughan schoolboy Oritse Williams, from Wandsworth Bridge Road, put his name on the dotted line this week with label Epic - which represents superstar Shakira and British singer Lemar.

The foursome came close to being the first group to win the ITV competition but were beaten by Alexandra Burke in an tear-jerking final.

A delighted Oritse said: "We were pretty worried nothing was going to happen to our careers and then two days ago our management said Epic wanted to sign us.

"It's absolutely amazing. There is no better feeling.

"It's something I have been dreaming of since I was a kid."

He added: "It's a great label. Michael Jackson released Thriller on it. It's great to say I'm label mates with Michael Jackson."

Nick Raphael, managing director of record label Epic, said he was delighted to have agreed a deal with the band.

"JLS are the best boy band to emerge from a TV talent show," he said. "The band already have an incredible fan base, and I look forward to launching their recording career"
