A gang with youngsters as young as 14-years-old has been sent to jail for dealing heroin, cocaine, cannabis and MDMA on Pimlico’s streets.

The mixed-sex group included brothers, one aged 14, of Queens Park and another aged 15, of Pimlico, who both admitted to supplying drugs and were both sentenced on Friday (August 8) to a two year rehabilitation order, a two year supervision order, a six month curfew and are not allowed to live in the SW1 area.

In total 25 drug dealers were arrested by police under Operation Accomack after the community raised concerns over prolific dealing of cannabis, heroin, crack cocaine and MDMA in the area. All but one - 29-year-old Rebecca Streak - pleaded guilty to supplying drugs.

Police launched the operation at the beginning of the year and quickly found there were open drugs markets in certain parts of the borough involving violent gangs.

On May 28, getwestlondon reported about 200 police officers raiding the Churchill gardens and Warwick estates in west Pimlico in the early hours of the morning where they arrested a woman and 18 men, including the 14-year-old boy.

The mainly teenage gang ranged in age from 14 to 47 and when the eldest man, Richard Wynter, 47, was arrested on March 18 he tried to run off but was detained by patrolling officers who he threatened to shoot. His sentencing has been adjourned to September.

When officers raided Chaucer House in Churchill Gardens in May, Adam Bennejem, 19, threw a small bag of cannabis and cash from the window which was captured on camera from below.

Detective Inspector Philip Grindell, said: “With the overwhelming evidence put before the court those charged had little option but to plead guilty to their offences. I am pleased with the sentences that have been handed down and this should act as a deterrent to those who insist on selling drugs on the streets of London - we will pursue you and put you before the courts.

“We launched this operation as a direct result of concerns we have had from residents and we are committed to listening to the local community and making Westminster a safer borough for people to live and work in.

“We have a clear mandate to reduce the drug activity and the violence that is associated with and I would like to praise the team who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the twenty-two people who were sentenced over the past two days will now either be subjected to imprisonment or orders.

“I would also like to personally thank the local community for supporting us with our efforts in disrupting and dismantling criminal activity in Westminster, this could not have been achieved without them.”
