A paedophile found with hundreds of indecent pictures of children has been sentenced to three months in jail and banned from having any contact with under 16s.
Kasinathan Sounthraraj, who previously lived in Harrow, confessed to having nearly 250 pictures and 17 films on his computer back in November, and was handed the sentence at Harrow Crown Court on Friday.
Among the photos found on the 31-year-old's PC, 13 were graded at level three and 18 at level four - the latter being the second most severe in the rating system.
He downloaded the majority of the pictures and movies in March this year and was charged with six counts of making indecent photos soon after.
Under a sexual offenders prevention order (Sopo), Sounthraraj, of no fixed abode, is now banned from contacting or befriending anyone under 16, or going within 100 metres of a school or play area.
The Sopo will also prevent him from living in or visiting the same house as a child, and from filming or photographing any child.
Sounthraraj could face a further six-month prison sentence if he breaches the terms of the order, which he will be bound by for the next five years.
