A LONDON tour guide is bidding for a place in the finals of a national singing competition this week.
Lindsey Siviter, a historical researcher and tour guide, who runs Jack the Ripper tours in London's east end, will compete in the area finals of the Open Mic competition in Portsmouth this Sunday (November 27).
Having already made it through two rounds of the contest, she is competing for the chance to perform at London's IndigO2 arena in the grand final on January 21.
The 34-year-old former member of Whitton Choral Society, who plans to perform Mercy by Duffy, said she was 'excited but nervous'.
The overall winner of the competition will earn a recording contract worth up to £30,000.
