Isleworth man rescued from flat blaze

A man was dragged from the window of a ground floor flat when a blaze broke out in Isleworth on Monday night.

A man was dragged from the window of a ground floor flat when a blaze broke out in Isleworth on Monday night.

Neighbours raised the alarm after hearing the smoke detector at the property in The Woodlands at about 8pm.

Firefighters arrived to find two men apparently sleeping on the lounge floor, one of whom was lead to safety by crew wearing breathing apparatus.

Both men were given first aid but they asked not to go to hospital.

There was no lasting damage to the flat.
