Today I went to Uxbridge, to a store where I knew I could buy the two books I wanted and a couple of Christmas cards.

I bouught the books, then, whilst looking for two Christmas cards, I had a real shock.

A card with the manger scene and the words: 'Oh no it's a girl'.

I was really upset and there were quite a few people standing around and they too were horrified.

One couple said: 'We are not Christians, but that is not funny'. They placed the cards on the top shelf.

One lady said to me: 'I am not a Christian but I find that very offensive'. I asked to see the manager.

She was very nice and said she hadn't seen them and put them all on the top shelf. 'I am very sorry,' she said.

We have a good Christian book-shop in Uxbridge but as it was raining so heavily I didn't go that far. But I know I won't visit that store again.

Talking to a friend, she said how difficult it is to buy Christian cards. It's true, I have noticed that in a number of shops.

Christmas is a time when we as Christians are reminded of the birth of Jesus, who came to be our saviour.

Life today is hectic, we don't know which way to turn or which way to go.

Well I just want to say nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible with God. All we have to do is ask.

In Uxbridge there will be many services going on in the churches. If you have not been, I pray that you will visit.

I know the difference God can make to all our lives. He really can be your best friend.
