A teenager from Isleworth who cares for her little sister was treated to a tour of Pineapple Dance Studios.

Cheyenne McLaughlin spends much of her day to looking after six-year-old Caitlin, who was born with severe brain damage after suffering a stroke in the womb.

The 14-year-old's devotion earned her the Carer's Award at the Stroke Association Life After Stroke Awards earlier this summer.

As a reward for her achievement she joined Caitlin on a tour of the famous dance studios in Covent Garden last Wednesday (September 10) and was given a year's membership of the venue.

Cheyenne also learnt and performed a dance routine under the watchful eye of the studios' founder Debbie Moore, who said she was impressed by how quickly the youngster picked up the steps.

"It was a really fun day, and I'm so happy that I got to have a tour round the studios. I'm really looking forward to coming back to do a class," said Cheyenne.

"I love dancing, so it's been an amazing experience to come to Pineapple Dace Studios. Caitlin really enjoyed herself too."

Cheyenne was only eight when her little sister was born but ever since she has thought nothing of giving up time to attend to her many needs, including feeding and changing her. She says she loves spending time with Caitlin, with whom she has a 'special bond'.

Ms Moore invited Cheyenne and Caitlin to her studios after meeting them at the Stroke Association awards in June.

"I was so inspired Cheyenne's tireless efforts to conquer stroke; I just had to invite her to visit us at Pineapple Studios. I really wanted to do something special for her, because she does something special every day by caring for Caitlin," said the dance doyenne.
