A POTHOLE may have led to a fatal motorcycle accident which has caused a 20-year-old woman to lose the boyfriend she adored.

Paul Harrison, 27, of St Paul Close, Cowley died at the scene in Old Mill Lane, Cowley, on Monday last week at about 7.45pm. It is believed that he lost control of his bike and crashed into a tree after hitting the pothole.

Mr Harrison was living with his girl-friend Amanda Riley, who heard the news two days after the accident, when she returned from a family holiday in Cyprus.

Miss Riley, who lives at the same address, said: "Paul loved his motor-bikes, but he always drove sensibly. It's just unfortunate that he lost control of his bike after hitting the pothole, but we still don't know whether that was the cause.

"I was shaking when I heard the news and I felt sick, it still doesn't seem real and I keep thinking that he will appear. I don't know what to do with myself."

She explained that the couple would have been going out for three years in October and that Paul had just got a full time job as a labourer.

Miss Riley said: "We were planning to save up and move out to buy our own place. He will be sadly missed, I love him and I'll never forget him.

"Paul was caring and fun loving, and he always got on with children, he was absolutely brilliant. He was very loving and gentle and he would help everyone that he could."

She said he was more of an outdoor person and enjoyed fishing.

Karena Riley, 50, mother of Amanda, said: "Paul was very caring and he and Amanda were inseparable and the entire family are still in shock, he will be sadly missed."

The funeral is yet to be arranged.
