A student who allegedly lured her ex to a car park where he was stabbed claims she only wanted someone to have 'words with him' about his long running harassment.
Pinky Patel, of Liddell Close, Kenton, stands accused of conspiracy to cause GBH to Rakesh Patel, who was left fighting for his life when he was stabbed with an eight inch hunting knife in the hand, arm, leg, stomach and back in November 2006.
But 21-year-old Patel denies organising the attack and says she never asked for anyone to hurt her former boyfriend.
Giving evidence last week at Harrow Crown Court, she said: "He started shouting at me on the phone and became really aggressive towards me and I just thought it wasn't very nice. I was quite scared.
"I just wanted someone to talk to him and tell him to back off."
The couple met three years prior to the attack on an internet chat room but the relationship soured.
The court heard how Rakesh then began to harass Patel but she denies threatening to have him beaten up months before because of it.
She also claimed a text message she sent to a friend which said 'feel to just stab him', was merely used as a turn of phrase.
She said: "I never said to him that I was going to get him beaten up and the message I sent was quite normal for me.
"He was really annoying me, just getting on my nerves. I didn't mean what I said in the message, it was just out of frustration.
"I didn't want that to happen at all." Neena Crinnion, prosecuting, argued that having looked at months of text messages and internet conversations from Patel, that there was little evidence this was her normal wording.
However, she did unveil another message which said (referring to victim Rakesh Patel) 'He needs a f****** slap, seriously' and a text, sent to her from a friend, saying: "I'm glad it's not me, I have seen how angry you get."
The court also heard how on the night of the attack Patel had sent MSN internet messages to a friend saying 'It is happening now, my cousin's in the car park' and 'I'm really scared, I'm shaking'.
She claims both were about someone talking to her ex.
Another ex boyfriend of Patel, Jahesh Velani of Plaistow, East London, also stands trial, for wounding with intent.
The trial continues.
