A pair of huskies helped pull in the punters - literally - at St Bridget's Christmas Fayre in Isleworth.

The Arctic dogs were at home in the bitter cold on Saturday (December 6) as they swapped their traditional sled for a wheeled cart to haul visitors around.

Revellers also enjoyed live music from the JPR3 JAZZ band and a string quartet, plus the chance to meet Santa in his grotto at the church in Twickenham Road and neighbouring St Mary's Primary Catholic School.

A raffle and various stalls helped raise £5,000 on the day, which will be split between community groups once the cost of running the event has been deducted.

The fair was one of several winter events organised under the Inspiring Isleworth banner, the highlight of which is this Saturday's Isleworth Christmas Market.

Nowell Anderson, publicity officer for Inspiring Isleworth, said: "A beautiful day blessed with brilliant winter sunshine brought an increased attendance of parishioners and the public to St Bridget's Christmas Fayre, which once again helped to foster a better community spirit."
