Neighbours on a Heston estate have spoken of their shock after a young bride was found strangled to death.

Forensic investigators and police swarmed the home in The Ringway this week, where paramedics discovered 22-year-old Kulvier Kaur unconcious on Saturday afternoon.

Mrs Kaur was taken to West Middlesex Hospital, where she died shortly after arrival.

According to neighbours, Mrs Kaur recently married 32-year-old Harjinder Pal in India and moved in to her husband's brother's home, which is just off North Hyde Lane, only three months ago.

One neighbour described the young bride as being very slim, tall and dark-skinned, and explained that Mr Pal's elder brother was known to some in the estate but the couple had not had time to meet their neighbours yet.

Next door neighbour Kulvinder Singh, 40, said: "I heard no noise or commotion in the lead up to Saturday.

"I don't know what's happened but It's really shocking. Harjinder only came back from India two weeks ago.

"When I saw the police turn up, I spoke to the older brother when he was at work on a building site and he seemed shocked that the police were there and didn't understand it."

Mrs Wicks, 54, who lives over the road, said she was horrified that something like this could happen in the estate.

"I have a daughter aged 22 living in Jamaica. To think that something has happened to that young girl is awful," he said.

"It really brings it home that horrible things like this can happen on your doorstep."

Harjinder Pal, 32, appeared at Feltham Magistrates Court on Monday charged with murdering his wife. He was remanded in custody.
