HUNDREDS clamoured to see a sizzling performance from singer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon on Good Friday (April 22).
Dixon, 32, belted out hits to the crowd revelling in the carnival atmosphere, having officially opened the 40,000 ft Best Buy electronics megastore, in the Lombardy Retail Park, Coldharbour Lane, earlier that morning.
Alesha, wearing a stunning black dress, said of the day: "I can’t believe how many people turned up for the store opening, the atmosphere is incredible! It’s been great to meet my young and old fans and performing for the first time this year."
DJs played throughout the day, and queues snaked through the parking lot as gadget buffs filed into the new store to bag special opening day give-aways and bargains, including half price TVs and huge reductions on laptops and appliances.
Will Durrant, Manager at the new store, said: "We had a very glamorous and successful start to a fantastic Easter weekend here. Customers took advantage of the incredible bargains we’re offering this weekend and enjoying first class entertainment for the whole family."
Award-winning RnB star Raghav took to the stage for another exclusive gig to mark the occasion on Saturday.
Best Buy currently has six stores nationwide, but the Hayes branch is the American market leader's first store in the capital. Another will open in Bristol this week, and further stores in Rotherham, Nottingham and Enfield are to follow later this year, in what will be a major year of growth in the UK market for the company.
