Post Office at Oxgate Court in Humber Road, Cricklewood which was targeted in an attempted raid.

TWO men have admitted trying to raid a Post Office in Dollis Hill.

Police were called to the Post Office in Humber Road at 5am on Sunday after two men were seen inside the premises. The thieves were disturbed by officers and tried to escape.

Officers pursued the men and they were caught after a police helicopter was deployed.

The men were arrested and charged the same morning and appeared from custody at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Trevor McCarthy, 40, of Barlby Road, Ladbroke Grove, and Leon Gerald, 38, of no fixed address, both admitted burglary with intent to steal, and handling stolen goods.

The case against McCarthy and Gerald was committed for sentencing to Harrow Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
