It wasn't just fireworks lighting up the skies last night, with this tree fire in Heston adding to the illuminations.

Kim Owen sent us this photo of the blaze off Springwell Road, to which firefighters at Feltham Fire Station were called just before 10pm.

Firefighters were also called to a bush which was alight just up the road in Grange Close last night, at around 9pm, though that took less than 20 minutes to extinguish.

The cause of the two fires is not known, and it is unclear whether either were caused by the many bangers being unleashed across west London to celebrate Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.

An officer at Feltham Fire Station said it had been a relatively quiet night for them, with most people enjoying the fireworks safely.

Over in Spring Grove, Isleworth, firefighters were called to a blaze at a home at 4am this morning caused by tea lights, which destroyed the bathroom and part of the roof.
