Barely 24 hours after the HS2 Hybrid Bill was published, along with its Environmental Impact Statement that confirmed where the greatest construction impact would be felt, signs have begun to appear warning local people of what to expect.

The notice pictured appeared on the short bridge between Copthall Road East and Copthall Road West in Ickenham.

It states that under the High Speed Rail (London-West Midlands) Bill, 'it is proposed to stop up or divert all or part of the footpath or bridleway in which this notice is posted'.

The footpath is the Celandine Way, which runs up the spine of the borough taking in some of the best areas of green space, and which is named after the Lesser Celandine flower which is found along its length.
