Housing chiefs at Brentford's Great West Quarter development have promised to fix faulty lifts for good after a series of breakdowns.

Both the central lifts at Trico House, in Ealing Road, Brentford, have been out of order at once on at least two occasions during the past month - most recently last week.

Residents at the eight-storey block, which has 100 flats, said one of the lifts was not working for months during the summer.

A2Dominion, which manages the apartments, last Friday (November 28) said both lifts had been repaired, only for residents to report that evening that one was out of order again.

The housing group has apologised for the frequent breakdowns and said it had discovered an intermittent fault with the circuit board for the lifts.

Speaking last Friday, A2Dominion's assistant director of property services John Turner said: "Our engineers will be replacing this circuit board next week to ensure this fault does not occur again. We would like to apologise to residents for the inconvenience caused."

There is a third lift available at Trico House but residents say this only provides access for people living in the eastern section because internal doors are locked.

This is not the first complaint people living in the Great West Quarter have had with A2Dominion. They have previously been left without hot water on numerous occasions and say they were charged for a new warden service without being consulted.
