I RECKON that Dave Part (Letters, July 31) is talking out of the back of his head with his Hounslow town comments.
I beg to differ. It seems to me the place is a waste ground with derelict shop premises. It is a haven for shirkers who intimidate shoppers.
Dave must be walking about with his eyes shut if he thinks there is "no better place to see". It is hardly Kingston or Richmond for example, or likely to be in the near future.
I am not a pessimist, Mr Part, but a realist and one who lives in the actual world.
If it means putting the council tax up a few quid or chasing away some dodgy litter-infesting shop trader, then so be it.
If the Chronicle shares his views, I may save myself 50p and part company.
