A woman’s social group based in Hounslow has donated nearly £2,600 to a dementia charity.
Members of Trinjan held a fundraising dinner and dance in aid of Dementia Concern at The Centre, in Merrick Road, Southall, on November 12 last year.
They raised £1,590 on the evening, with Barclays bank adding £1,000, and the money was presented to charity trustee Pierre Thomas on January 28.
Trinjan’s members have raised tens of thousands of pounds for Isleworth-based cancer support charity the Mulberry Centre since the group was set up in 2004.
They are now trying to raise awareness of dementia, with volunteers getting training to became ‘Dementia Friends’ so they can help those with the condition.
