A woman has died one week after she was hit by a van in an accident in Hanworth.

The 40-year-old woman from Hounslow was with her seven-year-old daughter u sing a zebra crossing on Hampton Road West, near the junction with Apex Corner, when they were struck by a vehicle on October 3, at about 7.15pm.

Both were taken to hospital by London Ambulance but sadly the mother died on Friday (10).

She has not yet been named.

Her young daughter was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the accident as it happened.

Detective constable Amanda Hawke said: "I would ask anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed this collision to contact police. Your information could be vital in helping us understand how this tragic incident happened.”

A silver Nissan stopped at the scene and an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of careless driving.

He has been bailed to return to a police station in late November.
