The victim of a terrifying attack in London Road, Hounslow, was left without a front door for nearly nine months - because the replacement had to be shipped in all the way from Sweden.

Baseball bat-wielding thugs smashed their way into Jonathan Buckley's flat in London Road, Hounslow, last June.

He was left with a badly swollen arm and only escaped more serious injury by climbing over his balcony into a neighbouring flat.

But, nine months later, the 20-year-old is still waiting for his door to be replaced by Notting Hill Housing Association (NHHA).

He is so scared his attackers will return he has moved into his mum's cramped flat in Midsummer Avenue, Hounslow.

"This is ridiculous," he said. "I could understand if it was a leaky tap but this is my front door and until it's replaced I can't feel safe there."

A spokeswoman for NHHA apologised for the delay, which she blamed on an initial mix-up in communications, but said a temporary replacement had been fitted.

She added that the only suitable door for the property was produced in Sweden and was currently out of stock.
