A West Mid worker completed the London Marathon in just over four hours, raising £3,500 for Diabetes UK between him and his partner.

Richard Ingrey, service manager for medicine at the Isleworth hospital, stopped the clock on Sunday at 4h4m, trailing his partner Gerry by 20 minutes. They are £500 short of their combined £4,000 fundraising target.

Meanwhile, Srdjan Saso, an obstetric doctor at the hospital is gearing up for the Tough Mudder Challenge next month, a gruelling 12-mile obstacle course in which barbed wire and icy waters are among the hurdles facing competitors. He is raising money for the Stork Appeal, to provide new equipment at the hospital's maternity unit.

Hannah Griffiths, of Isleworth, completed the marathon in just over six hours, despite suffering several injuries along the 26.2 mile course.

The 29-year-old was inspired to run by her grandmother, who has limited sight after developing cataracts, and has raised nearly £2,000 for Fight for Sight, which funds eye research.
