Horsenden Hill Golf Course will remain open until April as Ealing Council considers interest from third parties to keep running the site.

The council previously announced possible proposals to permanently close the golf course in Woodland Rise, Greenford, and turn it into a mixed leisure use and Christmas tree farm.

Ealing Tories called in the decision which could have seen the closure from January 31 , unless an offer arrived to keep it at no cost to the council before then, at a scrutiny meeting on December 18.

A council spokesperson has now said: “The council has received a number of expressions of interest from third parties for the ongoing provision of Horsenden Hill Golf Course.

“These are currently being considered. In the meantime the council has secured an agreement with the current operator to continue to manage the golf course until April 1. No decisions have been made.”

Horsenden Hill Golf Course is currently subsidised by Ealing Council tax payers and labour say they cannot continue to invest in it given the financial climate and it runs at an annual loss of around £60,000.
