The director of a Shepherd’s Bush homeless charity opened a new Sainsbury’s Local.
Amanuel Woldesus, from The Upper Room, was invited to launch the opening of the supermarket chain’s new store in Goldhawk Road, Shepherd’s Bush opposite Goldhawk Road Tube station, on Friday last week (Dec 06).
The Upper Room is a charity working with socially disadvantaged people who may be homeless, ex-offenders or migrants looking for work.
It provides a free lunch club on weekdays above St Saviour’s Church in Cobbold Road, a jobs and training scheme and a driving school for ex-offenders.
