FORGET Sir Alan Sugar's hopefuls, an Ealing Council trainee is on track to become the capital's most impressive apprentice.

Nicole Calliste, of Markham Crescent, Greenford, is one of two people fighting out to become London's finalist in the national Apprentice of the Year Award.

The 21-year-old has worked for the council's Family Information Service in Laurel Gardens, Hanwell, for 13 months. She helps the team provide support to parents on matters such as childcare funding and returning to work after having a child.

As well as excelling in her job, Nicole has also given health talks to teenagers and joined the Teenage Pregnancy Board to present a young person's view on tackling the issue. She has also completed an NVQ qualification in business administration.

Nicole said: "Everyone has been really excited for me. I've never won anything before.

"It's nice when people notice when you're working hard.

"I want to aim high and make my mum proud because she is a great inspiration."
