Developers have unveiled their plans for a massive 151 bedroom Hilton hotel in the heart of the historic Syon Park estate.
Property company Ability has already started work on the 13,000 square metre development and expects to welcome its first guests before Christmas 2009.
The 200-acre estate and Grade I listed mansion is the London home of the Duke of Northumberland, who has given his full backing to the project.
Ability claims the hotel, which will include conference facilities and a spa, will be 'sympathetic' to the historic setting.
The details of the development have been agreed in close cooperation with the Trustees of Syon Park, English Heritage and Hounslow Council, it added.
Rory Wilson, agent for The Northumberland Estates, which manages the Duke of Northumberland's business interests, said: "For us, the development not only sits well with the continued expansion of the weddings and corporate entertainment business run from Syon, but also provides a perfect opportunity to help safeguard the future of one of the many historic property assets under our ownership."
Ability has promised to invest in the restoration and conservation of a number of Syon Park's most famous features, including the Adam oval carriageway in front of Syon House and the Duchess Gate, which will be reopened to pedestrians for the first time since the 1930s.
