A HILLINGDON school is toasting double success at a prestigious awards ceremony for London students.

Purneet Bhachu and Faye Greenwood scooped top prize in the music category at the London Student Awards, while Jade Fox, Erin Patterson and Muno Abdukadir were named winners in the business and enterprise category.

All the students attend Swakeley's School, in Clifton Gardens, Hillingdon.

The winners were congratulated by the winner of the first Apprentice, Tim Campbell, and Minister for London Schools, Diana Johnson, at the glitzy ceremony at the Science Museum on Monday. (Dec 14)

For their winning entries, the music group recorded a fun and engaging song about school life which they performed on piano and the drums.

Purneet was also the runner in the ICT category, coming agonisingly close to a double individual success.

The pair won a professional music recording experience, while the enterprise winners will have lunch with Tim Campbell, and have been invited to the recording of 'The Apprentice: You're Fired' show next year.

Zeena Valenti, Amal Khalif, Stephanie Baumont, Gemma Brown, Mary Thompson, and Maria Storkatseva were all also shortlisted for the drama prize.
