A 16-year-old boy has been charged after a man was brutally attacked in Feltham High Street and left fighting for his life.

The youth, who was among seven teenagers arrested following the violence on June 27, was charged with GBH and Violent Disorder at Feltham Youth Court yesterday.

Police and ambulance staff had arrived on the scene just after 11pm and discovered the 24-year-old victim lying near the entrance to the car park with serious head injuries.

He is now being treated in a specialist hospital where his condition is described as 'life-threatening'.

A police spokesman said: "We believe that a verbal exchange took place prior to the victim being seriously assaulted. It is not yet clear if any weapons were used during the attack."

All the assailants then fled on foot, exiting the walk way and heading into central Feltham.

The boy who has been charged was remanded in custody and will return to court on July 8. The other six are  bailed to return to a west London police station on July 26 pending further enquiries.

Hounslow CID are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is urged to call the incident room on 020 8247 6160 or to remain anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
