PEOPLE living in Harefield are urgently needed to help with the completion of a history book about the village.

Historian Geoffrey Hewlett is set to publish his book, Harefield Through Time, in September this year but is missing some vital information.

Anyone with links to the Ash Grove, Newdigate and Merle Avenue estates should get in touch with Mr Hewlett to help decipher when the estates were built and by whom.

Anyone with any other interesting information or photographs of Harefield’s past are also urged to contact Mr Hewlett.

The book, which follows a timeline of the past 250 years, covers a host of fascinating events, including the founding of Harefield FC, the building of the first police station, the opening of the Australian Military Hospital and the world’s first heart and lung transplant, which was carried out at Harefield Hospital.
