A distraught dog lover is appealing for help after the trusting Labrador cross she recently rescued was stolen in Chiswick.

Troy was taken at 3:30pm yesterday (March 31) from outside Sainsbury’s Superstore in Essex Place, just off Chiswick High Road.

Police have CCTV footage of a thin, pale man in his 20s wearing a distinct black and white Tibetan-syle hat with ear flaps and a Parker-style jacket taking the dog. He is thought to have a blonde goatee beard.

His owner, Gwen Strong, is asking people to be on the look out for the man and Troy who she rescued only six weeks ago and believes is a Labrador/wolf hound cross.

She said: “Troy is very friendly and trusting, I have recently rescued him and he gets very nervous and frightened in strange surroundings. He is wearing a leather colour with a tag with his name and my phone number. He is also chipped.

“He was on a black long padded halter lead; he is very strong and has no road sense. His ears are brown and soft - very lab like, his coat is more bristly, white with a few light patches of brown. He is big and friendly and has a lovely face.

“I am a mess but humbled by all the help from people in the area.”

If anybody spots Troy or the man captured on CCTV, please call Ms Strong straight away on 07913684568.
