I WISH to complain about the negative headline involving 'Polish' teenagers (Ealing Gazette, April 3, Drunk Polish teens blamed for disorder) which many Poles in Ealing thought to be quite inflammatory.

While it is obviously your right to write about the concerns of Hanwell residents concerning local teenagers and even to voice local speculation on their nationality, that does not entitle you to give your report a headline that could cause increased community tension on ethnic grounds.

Would you have used a similar headline with the words Somali, Irish or Indian?

I believe that the headline should not have been used.

Furthermore, the article does not make clear what crimes these youths are supposed to have committed, other than that certain Hanwell citizens are apparently scared of them.
