A shisha lounge in Hayes has been shut down following numerous complaints of anti-social behaviour.
The M Lounge, in Yeading Lane, was served with a three-month closure order on Wednesday (January 21).
Police said they had received more than 30 complaints about anti-social behaviour linked to the bar, which has been open for a year, since July 2014.
These included reports of large groups gathering inside and outside the premises, people shouting and behaving in a threatening manner, loud music playing from vehicles outside and rubbish piling up on the pavements.
Police said such problems were a daily occurrence, starting in the evenings and continuing into the early hours, causing residents sleepless nights and making their lives a 'misery'.
The bar also breached a number of safety regulations. The London Fire Brigade Fire Safety Team visited in early November 2014 and found it had no fire extinguishers or smoke alarm.
Management will have to ensure they have all the required planning permissions and that they are complying with health and safety regulations before reopening the bar, which specialises in shisha – flavoured tobacco smoked through a hookah, or waterpipe.
Police Constable Jessica Boyden, of Hillingdon Police, said: “This bar was not only breaching safety regulations, but also making the lives of local residents a misery.
“I hope this closure order is a warning to other premises within the borough that complaints of anti-social behaviour and crime linked to your business will not be tolerated. We will work with our partners to take you to court and have your business closed down.”
