A man reported to be in his 50s was taken to hospital after a car crash in Hayes this morning, Thursday July 24.

London Ambulance Service were called to Coldharbour Lane at 7.52am to reports of a collision between two cars.

An ambulance crew treated the man before taking him to Hillingdon Hospital in Pield Heath Road.

The road was closed at the junction with Orchard Road, Hayes, after the crash happened.

Bus routes 90, 140 and E6  were diverted and drivers experienced delays in both directions along Coldharbour Lane while the section of road was closed.

Some travellers took to Twitter to warn others of the traffic build-ups after the collision.

According to BBC London Travel updates the road has now re-opened.
