A NURSING home has been awarded top marks for care by the people who know best – its own residents.

The Bupa Harefield Nursing Centre was given the seal of approval when 100 per cent of residents who responded to a survey rated the overall service they receive in the home as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’.

The annual independent survey has been running for 15 years and provides residents with the opportunity to comment and give feedback on areas including quality of staffing, choice of food and the home’s environment, including bedrooms and communal areas.

Every resident also rated the individual care they receive as either ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’.

Clarel O’Neill, manager at the home in Hill End Road, said: “Our residents are the best judges of the care we provide and I’m delighted to see such a positive response from them.

“Ensuring our residents’ wellbeing is our absolute priority so knowing we’re making so many residents happy with the individual care we provide is extremely rewarding.

“This result is a tribute to our hard-working and committed people and the excellent care they provide every day.”
