A FAN of TV's Emmerdale has had her funeral modelled on scenes from from the ITV1 soap.

The coffin of Nellie Rose Windsor was carried in style by a donkey and dray from her home in Churchfields Avenue, Hanworth, to Southwest Middlesex Crematorium on Wednesday.

Mrs Windsor, who died of cancer on December 22 just two days before her 89th birthday, loved the ITV programme, which featured a funeral when the coffin was carried on a dray drawn by a donkey.

Her daughter Jackie Burge said: "After seeing the episode, which was three years ago now, she decided that was what she wanted."

Mrs Windsor had five children and 41 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs Burge added: “She was loving and caring, and always the life soul of the party, a very funny and generous lady.”

Undertakers, Lodge Brothers, in Market Parade, Hanworth, arranged the procession with Ginger the donkey at its head.
