A PROTEST outside the Charity Commission in London over the forthcoming Gurdwara elections has been rescheduled by the opposition.
Members had planned to protest on Tuesday at what they claim is unfair treatment by President Simmat Singh Sohi.
The protest has been moved provisionally to Monday next week as the Opposition allows the Charity Commission time to respond.
Opposition co-ordinator Gurminder Singh Thind said: "We had a meeting with the Charity
Commission on Monday morning and they requested three to four days to consider the paperwork we have submitted and speak to the incumbent committee."
Mr Thind said that if the Charity Commission did not respond in time, or if its response was not satisfactory, the protest would go ahead.
The elections will be held on October 5 to decide the executive committee from 2008-2010, but the opposition says Mr Sohi is obstructing free and fair balloting.
