A group of men have been charged following a series of robberies across London including two smash and grab raids at the Dorchester Hotel.

The six men are accused of multiple scooter thefts, three robberies at two top London hotels and attempted robbery of a jewellers and of a luxury watch store from May to July this year.

Five of the men appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (October 23) while one man, Skye Roberts, was not in custody.

The men are:

  • Reed Roberts, 23, and Skye Roberts, 19, both of Cubitt Street, King’s Cross
  • Fred Gosling, 18, of Portpool Lane, Farringdon
  • Herman Yemane, 18, of Highbury New Park, Canonbury
  • Adel Soufie, 18, of Hazelville Road, Holloway  
  • A 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons

They were all charged with robbery at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane on June 10 and again on July 10, and robbery at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel, Cadogan Place, Knightsbridge.

The group were also charged with attempted robbery of Rankins Jewellers, Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch on July 22 and attempted robbery at Parmigiani Fleurier luxury Swiss watchmakers in Mount Street, Mayfair the next day on July 23.

All six were charged with theft of a scooter in Kirby Street, Farringdon on May 15, then another in Argyle Street, King’s Cross on July 3 and another scooter theft in Woburn Place, King’s Cross on July 11 as well as theft of a scooter registration place in Camden Terrace, Camden on July 3.

Brothers Reed and Skye Roberts have also been charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drug cannabis resin.

All five men are appearing at Kingston Magistrates’ Court today (October 24).

Three others arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to handle stolen goods in King’s Cross on July 10 - two men aged 66 and 28 and a woman, 46 - currently remain on bail pending further enquiries by police.
