AFTER 30 miles and 34 stops, Anthony Vander has successfully completed his epic charity run along the Central Line.

The 25-year-old from Greenford embarked on the mammoth of jogging the length of the tube route from Epping to West Ruislip and managed it in under eight hours last Friday.

Anthony, who works as an usher on London's South Bank said: "My legs won't work and it takes me three minutes to get up a flight of stairs but it was worth it."

Anthony set out with his friend Luke Spencer just after 8am from Epping last Sunday. He said: "We ran past Eppping Forest where we saw past cows, sheep and all things nature. went through woodford and into bethnal green which i think was out first london stop.

"I knew Luke was a hurting a bit when we reached Holborn and he was going a bit slower. I could tell he was injured. At Oxford Circus he told me to run ahead of him as he felt i was holding myself up. I didn't want to leave him and was worried because I knew he was hurt.

"After the run I found out he sprained his ankle and had to pull out on mile 20 near Marble Arch station. Luke is a hero and I think although he will be disappointed, he is a braveheart for attempting to run this. As long as we can raise money for the cause this is so important."

Anthony is hoping to raise at least £500 for children affected by the recent earthquake in Haiti.
