AFTER reading so many stories about crime, I thought I'd just let you know what happened to me recently.
On May 30 after work, I went into a shop in Hounslow West to buy some pitta bread. When I went to pay, I could not find my purse.
Thinking I had left it at home, I paid using some change I had in my handbag. When I got home I looked everywhere for my purse, but could not find it.
I even went back to work thinking I might have left it there. Eventually I admitted I had lost it, and cancelled all my cards, which was not easy.
On May 31, at around 1.30pm, a cab driver knocked on my front door. In his hand was my purse.
He said they had found it in their shop yesterday. The same shop where I was buying my pitta bread.
I could not believe my luck. All my cards, driving licence, money, everything was still there.
I went back to the shop to thank the owner. He told me they tried calling the numbers in my purse, but no one answered, so they decided to drop it off.
I guess I'm just shocked that there are still some good, honest people left in this world, who are willing to go out of their way and do something nice for a complete stranger.
