WITH reference to Councillor Darren Johnson's letter regarding the paving of front gardens (Front gardens grab curtailed,Letters, June 11) I think it would be a good idea if the council encouraged and rewarded people by way of a council tax reduction if they keep an environmentally friendly garden.

It may stop people putting in that awful gravel, which spills over the

pavement and blocks up drains, and encourage them to plant some shrubs and flowers which improve their and everyone else's life.

Will no one see sense before all the birds and wildlife are gone forever?
