Golfing friends since their teenage years have embarked on a four-round charity marathon today (Friday, June 20).

The Longest Day Golf Challenge is the toughest test in golf, and James Clarke, Mickey Berry, James Emery-Burns and Lewis Rance-Overton will need all their strength, powers and drive to overcome the 72 holes, 300 shots and 20-mile walk.

All of them are from the Hillingdon and South Bucks area.

They teed off at the South Buckinghamshire golf club in Stoke Poges at 5am and will hopefully finish their 72nd hole at about 9pm. So far they have raised £600 for Macmillan Cancer Care but hope to at least double this amount.

They are supported by family and friends all ready to cheer them all the way home.
