A girl was rushed to hospital this afternoon after being hit by a car.

High Road in Harrow Weald was closed off at 4pm today (Thursday, September 11) when the girl, 14, was hit by a car, sustaining head injuries.

The girl is understood to have been taken to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington as a priority case.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service told getwestlondon: “We were called at 15.52 to reports of a road traffic collision on High Road in Harrow.  We sent a single responder by car and an ambulance crew to the scene.  We treated a girl reported to be 14 years old for a head injury."

Police closed off the road and began diverting buses and motorists elsewhere while an investigation took place and witnesses were interviwed.
