SCHOOLS across the borough appear to be bucking the national trend for falling results once again.

At The Heathland School, in Hounslow, the proportion of pupils achieving five or more A*-Cs including English and maths is up a remarkable 10 per cent to 74 per cent.

Grades are also up at St Mark's Catholic School, in Hounslow, Rivers Academy in Feltham and Isleworth & Syon School.

Nationally, the proportion of A*-C grades fell for the second year running, from 69.4 to 68.1 per cent.

There was a particularly sharp fall in top science grades, following the introduction of tougher exams.
