An autumn show gave members of a garden association the chance to exhibit their produce.

More than 100 people attended the Horsenden Allotments and Garden Association (HAAGA) event in the All Hallows Church Hall, Elton Avenue, Greenford , last Saturday (September 6).

The free show held during the 80th year of the association’s flower shows included flowers, vegetables, fruit, pot plants, floral art and cookery and a small exhibition by members’ children.

Bill Fitzmaurice of the Beekeeping Association was also there selling his produce of Middlesex honey.

Winter bedding plants were for sale and there was a craft stall. Refreshments were available with a wide selection of homemade cakes by members and a raffle.

Brenda Moger, Newsletter editor for HAAGA, said: “We have three flower shows a year all of which are held in the church hall.

“Members display their products and enter a competition with independent judges who award and commend them.

“Each category has its own winner and prizes are a silver plaque engraved with their name which they can hold for a year.”
