THE funeral of a man described as 'the nicest policeman in the world' will take place next Tuesday (May 10).

As reported in the Gazette, Malcolm Ruddock, 58, collapsed at his home in Murray Road, Northwood, at 9pm on April 20.

He was pronounced dead the following morning and doctors say he suffered a massive heart attack.

Mr Ruddock, a father-of-two, spent 30 years working for the Metropolitan Police, including 20 years as a beat officer in Northwood.

He also had close links to the Northwood Residents' Association and Northwood Boys Club.

Mr Ruddock's funeral will be held at Breakspear Crematorium in Ruislip at 1.30pm, followed by a wake at Northwood Football Club. Anyone who wishes to pay their respects is welcome to attend.
