A BREWERY manager helped ferment lively discussion about the week’s topics when he appeared as a guest on a radio talk show.

Fuller’s Group Managing Director, Simon Emeny made his debut appearance as newspaper reviewer on the James Max Weekend Breakfast Show on LBC on Saturday (February 9).

Mr Emeny was born in Netheravon Road, a stone’s throw from where he is based at the Griffin Brewery, in Chiswick Lane South, Chiswick.

He spent an hour with presenter James Max between 8 and 9am, reviewing stories from the Saturday papers including the latest on the Horsemeat scandal, John Lewis’ latest results and the Beer Duty escalator.

He even had a gift for his host - a set of London Pride coffee mugs which helped perk them up ahead of such an early start.

Speaking afterwards he enthused about how enjoyable it was and said: “They have already asked me back to do it again another time.”

Meanwhile, another employee of the brewery who is enjoying the taste of success is finance and risk analyst Dave Hannam.

The Chronicle revealed last week how six members of the staff are cheering on their respective teams at the Rugby Six Nations.

The winning country will land the staff member who supports them a £500 donation to the charity of their choice - however they will also have to buy pints of the recently relaunched Front Row ale for the other five.

Following the second round matches at the weekend, Mr Hannam’s England are now the only unbeaten side - having won 6-12 over Ireland, represented by quality project leader Paul Fahy, for the first time in a decade.

As for the rest, export controller Michael Campbell-Lamerton’s Scotland crushed food safety co-ordinator Jarno Crippa’s Italy 34-10 and assistant operations accountant Lowri Williams’ Wales trumped executive chef Vincent Glouton’s France 6-16.
