SADLY, in the Daily Mail of March 3, I read another report damning treatment received under the care of the NHS, with the headline 'Father dies after stroke missed three times'.

I am delighted to be able to say my story is completely different.

On Monday, March 2, my husband collapsed, seriously ill. I believed he had a stroke. I dialled 999 and an ambulance arrived in approximately five minutes.

The paramedic examined him and assured me it was not a stroke but a serious infection, as he had a very high temperature. He was immediately taken to West Middlesex Hospital, where a team of doctors and nurses in A&E took over his care.

I watched their amazing expertise and saw them, literally, bring my husband back to life.

Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff there.

He was eventually admitted to a ward, where the excellent care continued.

I have nothing but praise for the NHS and, particularly, the West Middlesex Hospital, not forgetting the paramedics who manned the ambulance, where his care was second to none.
