FOR its 12th year running Frank Sinatra's classic 'My Way' has retained its post as the most requested song on Radio West Middlesex.

Although Frank has been bumped by Elvis Presley after 10 years as the most requested artist, patients at the Isleworth hospital requested his song hundreds of times over the year to bring it in at number one once again.

Station presenter James Hoff, said: "The chart reflects the diverse taste in music that the patients at West Mid have and we are really pleased that our efforts cheer them up during their stay."

During 2009 volunteers at the station played nearly 1,100 requests, with Bette Midler's Wind Beneath My Wings coming in as second most requested song and Michael Jackson's death being reflected in his position as fifth most popular artist.

James said: "Every year there is also a current pop favourite which makes an appearance on the chart and this year it was X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah."
